Transport
Car
The trip to Herdla takes about 45 minutes from downtown Bergen by car. You follow Rv 555 to Storavatnet and then turn off towards Askøy. After about 27 km along Fv 562, you cross the bridge between Askøy and Herdla. Follow Fv 562 all the way to Biologen.
From Bergen Airport Flesland, it is 45 km to Herdla. Drive out from the airport road to Rv580, continue onto Fyllingsdalsveien and then follow Sotraveien and over the Askøy Bridge, then drive Fv 562 all the way to Biologen.

Bus
You can also reach Herdla by taking bus number 499, which departs from Bergen Busstasjon and has Herdla as its final destination. The bus stop at Bergen Busstasjon is on platform 5, right next to Bybanen. It takes only 2 minutes to walk to Biologen from the final stop.
Boat
From Bergen, it takes about 40 minutes by RIB boat from Øygarden Experiences. Along the way, there's informative commentary, a visit near Hanøytangen, and possible stops if dolphins are spotted.
If you have more time, taking a trip in a vintage boat is recommended, which takes about 2 hours.
The journey by express boat from Bergen takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
