Biologen is a historic building from 1922 that now serves as a modern hotel in the beautiful surroundings of Herdla, 45 minutes from Bergen.
Originally, Biologen functioned as a marine biological research station, hosting both international scientists and royalty as past visitors. Today, Biologen offers culinary experiences with local ingredients, an extensive wine list, peace for the soul, and a fantastic bed to sleep in.
THE BRINKMANN-HOUSE
Get enchanted by the history and charm of the Brinkmann House! Named after the renowned Danish-Norwegian zoologist August Brinkmann, this delightful house offers a unique lodging experience right next to the hotel. August Brinkmann, a distinguished researcher and key figure in the development of zoological studies in Norway, managed the biological station at Herdla from 1921.
Stay at the Brinkmann House to experience a blend of comfort and history. With a stay here, expect more than just a bed to sleep in – you’ll enjoy a complete experience filled with peace and inspiration from the surroundings that once inspired one of Norway's leading zoologists. The house features two rooms with king-sized beds, and one room with two separate twin beds, a living room with TV, a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher and simple cooking utensils, a washing machine, and a bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower. Not least, the house offers a panoramic sea view.
