Transport to Herdla

Important information about Herdlabroen:
Herdlabroen is the only road connection to Herdla, and it is therefore important to be aware of the opening hours. The bridge closes for car traffic at 11:15 PM from Sunday to Thursday, at 2:30 AM on Fridays, while it remains open all day and night on Saturdays and Sundays. These times apply from August 2025 to July 2026.
Car
The trip to Herdla takes about 45 minutes from downtown Bergen by car. You follow Rv 555 to Storavatnet and then turn off towards Askøy. After about 27 km along Fv 562, you cross the bridge between Askøy and Herdla. Follow Fv 562 all the way to Biologen.
From Bergen Airport Flesland, it is 45 km to Herdla. Drive out from the airport road to Rv580, continue onto Fyllingsdalsveien and then follow Sotraveien and over the Askøy Bridge, then drive Fv 562 all the way to Biologen.
The hotel has parking facilities available for guests.
Bus
You can also get to Herdla by bus number 499, which departs from the Bus Station and takes about an hour. Board at the Bus Station, platform F, right next to the light rail track. It’s only a 2-minute walk to Biologen from the final stop.
Boat
Vi har egen brygge hvor du kan legge til dersom du kommer med båt. Bryggen stenges i vintersesong. Her er det en dybde på 3 meter og hvor stor båt som kan legge til avhenger av vær og vind, ved flatt hav kan vi ta imot båter på opptil 80 fot. Det er også en offentlig kai i Herdlevågen. Turen med båt fra Bergen til Herdla tar ca en time.
