Biologen is a historic building from 1922, now fully renovated into a modern (boutique) hotel situated in beautiful surroundings at Herdla, just 45 minutes from Bergen.
Biologen was originally built as a marine biological research station, a place visited by international scientists, researchers, and royalty.
The hotel today features a stylish and modern interior, with warm and cosy colours, and a setting that clearly honours the exciting history from a bygone era.
Biologen's kitchen has already made a name for itself for culinary experiences with local ingredients and a rich wine selection. The expertise of the staff is high, and it has become a preferred destination for both local and travelling guests.

Easter at Biologen Herdla
Easter is a great opportunity to swap everyday life for sea air and tranquility. Biologen Herdla is situated in the heart of the West Norwegian landscape – with beaches, birdlife and open sea right outside the door.
This year we have two Easter packages to choose from: a relaxing stay for those who want to recharge, and a golf package for those who want to combine the game with a great base by the coast.
Things to do at Herdla
Herdla is a small nature paradise at the very edge of the ocean. Here you can walk along beautiful coastal paths, explore the history at Herdla Museum, or try your luck fishing from land or sea. Herdla is a popular destination for water sports, and for golf enthusiasts, Herdla Golfklubb offers a beautiful year-round course with sea views.
The hotel can offer activities that both play on the nature and the opportunities around the hotel, but also through partners such as Herdla Museum, Kayak Bergen, Sotra Villmarksenter, Øygarden Opplevelser, and Interaktive People.
How about swimming from the sauna pier with warm service from the grill cabin, paddling in a kayak, or team building at Herdla Valen.
